On your new piercing! Our suggestions are based on years of experience, common sense, research and medical clinical practice. Remember, it is common to have questions during the healing of a new piercing. Feel free to come in, email or give us a call. It is common for people to think they have an infection when the piercing is only irritated. Piercings that receive the care they need should not get infected. Sometimes, merely looking over the suggested aftercare you have been following Will point you to the cause of the problem. Here at bad intentionz tattoo we are always available to help you with your piercing/Healing related questions or concerns. Normal healing May includes,
Initially: Bleeding, localized swelling, tenderness or bruising.
During healing: Some discoloration, itching, secretion of a white/Yellowish fluid that Will form some crust on the jewelry.
Wash your hands thoroughly before touching your piercing to avoid introducing bacteria. It’s important to leave your piercing alone, except when cleaning it, and there’s no need to rotate the jewelry during the healing process. Your gallon of cleaning solution can be stored in the refrigerator or at room temperature, but always remember to shake it before each use. For best results, transfer a small amount of the solution into a small cup or shot glass. Invert the cup over the piercing area to create a suction, allowing the solution to fully cleanse the site. For certain piercings, it might be easier to apply the solution using clean gauze or paper towels soaked in the solution. Be sure to soak your piercing 1-2 times daily for 5-10 minutes each session, continuing this routine until the gallon of cleaning solution is used up, which typically takes 6-10 weeks.
For oral piercings, utilize the cleaning solution as an effective mouthwash. It’s essential to rinse your mouth after each major meal—breakfast, lunch, and dinner—as well as after large snacks. This helps to remove food particles and bacteria that can settle around the piercing. Rinse for at least 30 seconds to a minute during the first two weeks, ensuring the solution thoroughly coats the area around the piercing. This practice not only aids in keeping the piercing clean but also promotes faster healing. If you notice any signs of irritation, such as increased redness, swelling, or discharge, consult your piercer or a healthcare professional for advice. Maintaining a consistent aftercare routine will help ensure a smooth healing process, allowing you to enjoy your new piercing without complications.
Everyone heals at different rates and it can vary a great deal from person to person. To help avoid confusuion, the following healing times are suggested timelines to keep cleaning your piercing. It does not mean that after this amount of time your piercing will be healed. A piercing heals on the outside first so it will appear to be healed long before it actually is. Changing the jewelry while the piercing is healing is not suggested and can result in the loss of the piercing, irritation and a prolonged healing time.

Three of us walked in on a whim last night—one for a birthday tattoo and two for celebratory piercings. Cisco did our piercings, and everyone was pleasant and fun. Thank you!
Rose at reception was great, and Jonathan, the tattoo artist, was very professional and did an excellent job. I’ll return in a couple of weeks for another tattoo!
